Hi everyone,
Although I've been in Christ for over 15 years, I am new to worship leadership, which has come through a newly launched contemporary service at our church (as of January '04). I'm interested to get to know some of you and learn more about music and worship.
With no prior tradition of anything but singing out of the old hymnbook at our church (still in use in our traditional service), we were wide open to trying lots of different music that would fit this setting.
Among other music, we have been introducing a number of the songs written/performed by Californians Ryan Delmore, Darren Clarke, etc. from the "Burn Service" series that is published by Vineyard. While it appears this music is very new to those in attendance (it takes a long time for California trends to make their way over here to New England), they are taking to it quickly and we have shared in some great worship together. We've also found it to be well-suited to our upbeat style and skill levels (guitar, bass, drumms and vocals), and full of great praise messages of hope and promise in Christ.
Anyone else using this material? It's very accessible, with 3 CD's and two music books that contain full piano sheet music, guitar lead sheets, etc.
The Lord's Blessings to You All |
