| How does this work? I know Metallica does it and I was just wanting to mess around with it. Can anyone tell me how to tune for it? |

From what I have read you have to take all the strings down one step so its:
C G C F A D
I myself haven't played around with different tuning, but I read about it all the time. Drop D and C are supposed to make power chords easier. Almost all Tab that I read for a lot of modern rock songs are in Drop D. So it makes it hard to find Tabs to play in standard (cause I don't feel like going through changing my tuning to play one or two songs... yet).
Don't take my word for the tuning though, you'd be better off getting it from someone who has actually played in Drop C. |

| Drop D tuning is all standard tuning except the low E, which you tune to D. So you have (low to high) DADGBE. This makes power chords easier because all you have to do is barre a single fret. You see and hear a lot of that in modern metal. I would assume Drop C would follow the same principle, but I could be wrong, I've never used it. |

| Since Metallica covered "Turn the Page" by Bob Seger, maybe they could do a John Denver tribute next. |
