Does anyone know of any software that helps to get things "down on paper" as far as producing sheet music for the ideas that come to mind? I like to think that in this day and age there's some type of software that can help to produce sheet music as you write. |

| I'd go down to some computer software stores and have a look in the music section. You can usually find a midi notation editor for a fair price. If you just want to produce sheet music, then that should be all you need. And since they have the ability to play back what you put in, you can change what you don't like. I doubt you want to spend a lot of money on big professional programs like Cubase. But a standard midi notation editor should do the job. |

Better idea. If you are ok with putting down your thoughts in tab. There is a free program called Power Tab Editor. It'll do the same thing. Except that it's free. So maybe check that one out.
