Hey, every time I click on Merridan's thread, my pc freezes up, can it be moved or start a new one or somethin? The curiosity is killin me!

Lew - I'll give you the Reader's Digest version:
1 Tim 2:12 - "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man;"
The Greek word for "authority" in v.12 is authenteo, translated as "to have control over". Arguably, the position of Worship Leader in a church has control over the congretation, at least as much as is necessary for leading a group. You can say as much based on the examples in the Old Testament.
There's also a super-cultural element in verses 13-14 that ties the proscription to the nature of things so that it isn't just a cultural phenomena.
That's the short version, anyway.
