lance..i posted this at www.lasidotalk.com & thought since you are mechanically inclined that maybe this would induce you into trying a low watt amp out..be a neet winter/bad weather project & its relatively inexpensive !!--i was gonna get me an Allen Amps kit to put together, but i'm gonna give this Gerhart kit a try once i get back home.--check it out.
Build Your Own Tube Amp with Gerhart's Gilmore Jr. Kits.
These are pictures of the "complete" Gilmore Jr. kit assembled. The chassis was painted white with a spray can to emulate the expected "homebrew" technique. The complete kit includes all mounting hardware, grommets, and hookup wire. Hardware is stainless steel and brass. The end caps are oak and are unfinished in the photos.

-- Gerhart Amplification has introduced the "Gilmore Jr." 1/2 watt tube guitar amp kit for the do-it-yourselfer. hi michael...i gotta laugh at that one !! ..i've got 1 4x10 cabinet-2 2x10 cabs-a 1x12/1x10 cabinet (my favorite) & a 1x15 cabinet...all -except 1 of the 2x10s-designed with the use of low watt amps in mind-the 1x15 cab is also a favorite for playing blues through..its the only 1 that isn't loaded with Weber speakers-its got the speaker owwda one of my old PV delta blues amp--i enjoy messing with speaker cabs almost as much as i love low watt amps..LOL.---this Gerhart amp is what a head looks like without the wood box surrounding it--and i like the way a head looks sitting atop a good speaker cabinet...plus the sound you get with a cab loaded with speakers chosen for the tone you like...it just makes me smile thinking of how much more pleasing the sound is than a regular combo amp.
