Hi guys! I am primarily an ascoustic guy into solo Christian folk-rock and I usually visit the "Christian Guitar Lounge" area, but I thought I would share this "YouTube" address for those of you interested in good electric southern slowhand blues. This is not about Christian music (although Ken was raised a good Catholic) but that my best friend and music mate from before highschool has a new video on youtube. This guy, Ken Cardino, is one of my oldest and closest friends although we went in a different musical direction.

We played in our first bands together starting when I was in the 9th grade and he the 8th. He started on bass but after our lead player got drafted in '68, I convinced him to pick up a wore-out '57 strat he got for $50 and the rest is more or less history. He is recognized as one of the best blues and classic rock guitarists in NW LA and NE TX and has been for many years. His "Can't Hide From the Blues" is his first video with moving pictures. Kenny wrote it and is playing all the instruments except the sax(he even progammed the sythesized drums)and he even does the vocals. (he could have asked me!)

Anyway, if any are intrigued, check it out at:

Please leave him a message if you are impressed. He could use your encouragement, 'cause he really doesn't think he's any good after 40 years and I think most will disagree. Thanks! Ken Cardino can wring out some stuff! Check out the credits, as well. They are hilarious!
Blessed, by such talented friends, Dan

I'm not really into blues either. But it is good stuff. I certainly can't fault his talent for it.

You're so very welcome, both of you! I sure Ken appreciates the visitors to his site, as well. My buddy is indeed a talent. Blues isn't his only thing, either. He does CSN&Y, James Talor and Eagles type stuff equally competent on his old Gibson J-45. He played on my first Gospel CD (folk and bluegrass) and did a Caedmon's Call "The High Countries" back-up tracks for me to play my Guild and sing with. It's awesome and has two electrics, an acoustic, bass and synthesized drums and strings. He's a real Beatles freak and has done many instrumentals like "Something" and "Hey, Jude." He did an awesome arrangement of Hendrix's "Little Wing" that will leave you breathless. Because of copyright issues he hasn't posted any of these, but some studio should back him, 'cause folks would buy this stuff. Anyway, thanks again for listening to my friend, Kenny. He has committed to my upcoming 2 contemporary Christian Cds (one for the young and one for the more mature) and I wouldn't want anyone else.
Blessed, by fine guitars and priceless friends, Dan

Hi Guys! I'm glad some of you could enjoy this. And he is a real talent. VulcanBob, and really any of you (in time, if I can scrape postage and get to a Post Office) Just email me your address, and I will try to send both of the CDs I have done. One is called "Dan Brown and Friends" (and the friends include Ken Cardino) and a second, that is my wife, Sheila and I and more folky and hymn-like called simply "Dan and Sheila". (Your's are still coming, Jerry!) They're pretty amateur but there's some good stuff in there. The first has a rocking, blues on it called "The How Long/ Low Down, Guilty, Convicted by the Holy Ghost Blues" which I like a lot and a few Rock things and even some bluegrass, all Christian. I have about 4 or 5 things I wrote and a literal "Heavy Metal" version of Dallas Holm's "Rise, Again"one by the guy (Jery Miller) that was furnishing his home/ studio and another heavy tune that I wrotye the lyrics and he, the music. I will be honored to share, when I can, with an address (preferably not Indonesia, Really, soon Jerry!)

I do have an old webpage for my first CD and it has snipped samples from all 16 tracks and a full of one I wrote and some other stuff, 'til your CDs arrive.

Blessed, and basking it it's warmth, Dan

PS I have had my first ruby-throated hummingbird scout for about 10 days. Will have 50 to 75 by summer's end. Fascinating creatures! I am blessed!
