As you probably remember, i posted an idea of building a website for young people . It's here, the website is finished and it's open for public!
I really have to thank Punkstar for helping me with the initial concept of everything, i'm far from being a computer/program expert, but with the Lord's amazing grace, i have managed to selfstudied everything i needed to know and finish the site.
i hope you guys could come and have a look at the layout, unfortunately native-english-speaking people are unable to register bec the focus is Young people from non-englishspeaking-countries. except if there are members here who come from such countries and you're reading this, do please visit the site.
But i truly believe, your prayers for me are much of worth than a simple registration bec only people in this forum really know my "motive" of reaching out young people like this.
my target audience is people who have dreams. I see young people who have dreams always get discouraged by their lousy friends or bad parents, they don't dare to go beyond the average life. I feel sorry for young people like this, they just want to be "Average" . Jesus has given me a new life with endless possibilites, i'm not living in the cage of "maybe" anymore, i dare to dream of a bright future, bec i know my future is to serve the purpose of my God and he will provide everything i need.
So please visit the site and any comment i would really appreciate. The topics are more into young people's lives, not too serious, they don't really like serious stuff i notice. This is the addresss : www.beavercanal.net |

I'm proud of you. Setting up a website takes a bit of learning, but you got there. Congratulations. All the best with maintaining and running the community.
I do have a question though. Why is it called Beaver Canal? |

thanks PS, all of that goes to God.All of us are capable of doing something beyond our reach if only we ask God's blessing first, that's what i believe in. you gave me a clear conceptual idea, the big picture of web building. I sincerely thank you dear neighbour in Jesus Christ.
I do feel that this site maybe my first and last hahahaha.... don't know for sure yet, it's really hard work building up a site I got backache from sitting hours in front of the screen still the Lord is good! i had to reinstall the SMF twice you now PS, because there were some 'buggy' packages which i had mistakenly installed.
hey PS, this guitar forum has been kinda hard for me to access, are you having the same problem ? it takes awfully long time to load the pages, so i didn't check in. is there a problem maybe on the server ? |

You're quite welcome. And yes, websites are usually a big commitment. But from the sounds of the page, at least there are a few others working on the site providing content and sharing moderation duties. Administration isn't all that hard and at least you don't have to look after the server (your webhost does that).
Regarding the forum's recent performance for you. I can't say I've noticed any problems. However, I don't run the server so I couldn't say for certain. If you are noticing consistent issues, then it would be best to contact our admin (his email address should be posted in that thread where he said he was going to China, I'll dig it up if you need it). He has the contacts to check on the server since it's his company that runs this board. The only problem I get with the board is an issue with the pop-up telling me I have a new private message, but it is probably an issue I get with the browser I use rather than the site. So I'm not worried about it.
Anyway, I got your message and I'm writing you an email now. |

yeup i got couple of friends moderating the forum with me, but they know nothing about the SMF or the program stuff, they're just there to build up the community and help with the promotion.
yeah i'm kinda worried not being able to access this forum anymore, hope things will work out, from the sound of admin's last post, i don't think he would have the time to check the server from china |

I shouldn't imagine he does. But I think he does have techs back in America to do that kind of thing. |
