Good to know George. I think you can "say" the name. |

Nope, you can't. I used the review function, and the system automagically changed the name to *Fartknocker*. |

| I learned something new about the Wechter Pathmaker. The company that makes their triple-pickup system, Artec, has introduced a new stacked-pole humbucker that has the same shape and form-factor as their original single coil. I e-mailed Wechter, and Abe himself e-mailed back that you can special order a Pathmaker with the new Artec humbucker instead of the single-coil. |

George, are you talking about this setup?
http://www.wechterguitars.com/models/el-3-pickup.htm
I would love to try one.
My gut always tells me anything with a mic pickup is going to have feedback problems.
They say different, but some of them guys have pretty good sound men behind them.
I got a Church volunteer that arrived 10 minutes late for Revival. |

That's it. The people I've talked to about them point out that the mic is something that you can blend in and out. A little bit of mic layered on top of the standard pickups shouldn't cause major problems. Some people whose reviews of the system I've read recommend using the magnetic and piezos for live performance, and the mic for recording.
If it was only a mic in the body, I'd call it a feedback problem waiting to happen. But since you can easily turn the mic down or off and still have the piezo and magnetic, I'd call that a feedback "situation", not a problem. |
