The G-505 synth guitar controller is a Strat-style guitar from the Japanese synth giant Roland. Famous users include Andy Summers, Jeffrey Skunk Baxter and Eric "Slowhand" Clapton.

I believe that the G-505 could also sound like an acoustic guitar. This can be done by selecting a patch from the GR-700 floor pedal, which also works like an FX pedalboard producing some cool guitar effects such as flanger, chorus, wah... My principal warfare is to obtain a typical quacky flanged Stratocaster-like sound from the guitar side mixed with a bright acoustic dreadnought guitar from the synth side (recalling a sound similar to that of Eric Clapton's "Edge of Darkness" period).

Why would you want to use such an old synth guitar when they have newer and better guitar's with the 13 pin system like Godin that track way better than the 505?

Why would you want to use a 13 pin system when a Fender VG Strat plugs into any amp out there?

Because I use my Brian Moore 81.13 for a MIDI guitar...that's WHY!

He was talking about a SYNTH guitar!

You cannot use a Fender VG for a MIDI guitar!

The 13 pin system is FAR better for MIDI guitar than the older Roland synth setups. It simply tracks better!

That was my point!
