Does anyone know how to work your way up to 16th note strums like shane and shane do? They sound really cool. I would like to learn how to and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks.

Get yourself a good metronome and try to get four strums in one beat. Set it really slow first, then build it up. You can get some metronomes that let you set a 16th note feel, use that. The trick is to get all the right strings without overpowering any from the speed you may have to play. It's about fluidity. So go slow and work your way up.
count a slow tempo
quarter notes = 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 ...strumming down every count
eighth notes= 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and strumming the numbers down and the 'and's up! so 1\/ and/\ 2\/ and/\ etc...
16th note strums count
1 ah and a 2 ah and a 3 ah and a 4 ah and a...strumming the numbers and 'and's down and the ah's and a's up!
1\/ ah/\ and\/ a/\ 2\/ ah/\ and\/ a/\
so 1 2 3 4 thakes the same length of time as 1 ah and a 2 ah and a 3 ah and a 4 ah and a..
start slow and go from quarter strums 1 2 3 4(all down)
to eighth note strums 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and(down up down up)
to sixtenth note strums... 1 ah and a 2 ah and a 3 ah and a 4 ah and a...
(down up down up down up down up etc...)
