There is a DVD where Paul Reed Smith talks about his humble beginnings and how he went from a small guitar builder to the No. 3 guitar maker in the world. But now that he is in with the Big Boys..... (Fender and Gibson)(for good or bad)... who do you think will be the next guitar builder that hits it big?
I remember paul saying that Carlos Santana endorsing his guitars really helped him take off. Do you believe that a guitar builder needs endorsements from players that are well known? Or do you believe that a guitar builder is better off with word of mouth?
So who do you think has the best chance of becoming another Fender, Gibson or PRS?
OR..... do you even WANT them to??? |

end of disscussion....
seriously tho. i live near the kansas city musicians friend warehouse/shipping location and they have a retail store on one end of the building where you can get fantastic deals on returned scratch and dent products and the like. i had the opertunity to try a few Parker guitars and i have never played or heard a guitar with any were near the range of sounds you can get from one of these. i played a Parker Fly Deluxe and it was simply awesome. i also played one of the cheaper imported models {p-38} and it was very nice also. it had an active piezo pickup in the bridge and you could get an acoustic-like sound.anyway i would give them a look if any of you are shopping. |

| I've heard some good things about Parker. But I'm hoping the next big company will be Cole Clark (yes, the company that makes my acoustic, again) They really are doing good things. I'd like to see them do quite well and I think they are on their way. |

| MG123, i think Tom Anderson makes great Fenderish guitars, but i'm not sure he wants to be big. Hamer's American guitars are criminally underrated IMO and they deserve to be more famous. There's a guy down in Houston named Bill Collings whose acoustic's and jazz guitars are supposed to be among the greatest sounding and playing instruments. I know Lyle Lovett plays one. But from an interview i've read i don't think he wants to be bigger either. Be God's-scott |

I would have to say Parker as well. I own a fly deluxe and will more than likely be purchasing another soon as I'm currently working an endorsement deal with the mother company, US Music. They bought the manufacturing equipment from Ken Parker and are taking over the fly production. I think the move was brilliant as a bigger distributor will bring about better brand recognition!
Awesome guitar extremely light, fast action, and so many tones on tap! Best geetar I've ever owned and I've owned many!

| really...is PRS the 3rd largest guitar building company? i would have thought ibanez...anyways i think ibanez is a big part of the future. they build great guitars for low prices...i play a 83' strat as a main guitar, but otherwise I have a JEM which i love and a ibanez artcore which is the best proof that they will always play a role in guitar building-it's cheep and really good! it sounds great! |

| I'd agree that Ibanez do some good rock guitars. One of my friends loves them. And I admit that I'd love to play one of the new JEMs one day. |
