| Anyone ever play one of these? The worship leader at my church brought one to our Christmas carols service and I was using it (he used another amp he brought with him, a Fender M-80 chorus). I was using my Cole Clark though it and it sure sounded sweet. I set the reverb up to about five and it really gave the guitar a really nice fuller sound. It was quite a good amp. Anyone else ever play one? |

| The Princeton is a very fine Fender all tube low power amp. Great blues amp. I've never owned one, because when I was young, you bought big amps and blew out your hearing. Mine was a Twin Reverb(88 real watts). Now I'm a little deaf. If I'd known better, I'd never bought anything more powerful than my Vibrolux (35 watts). Depending on the year, the Princeton is about a 12 watt amp, and it dates back to the original trio of Fender amps back in 1946. The Princeton Reverb was introduced in '64, and is a favorite studio amp, being the smallest Fender all tube amp with both tremolo and reverb. |

I'm with ya Herb. I started in the 1970's with a 100watt Yamaha 2x12 on top of a Marshall 4x12 cabinet. And i wondered why my vocal mike would feed back all the time Now i know the secret to good guitar tone for pop/rock/blues is a smaller tube amp turned up loud. My 1964 Princeton 6G2 came in either brown tolex or blackface with white knobs and it is a good amp for playing loud distorted leads It cleans up very well for rhythm simply by turning down your guitar. I wish i would have bought a Princeton Reverb a few years ago too. Now the prices are out of sight!
Michael, i bought a early silverface Deluxe Reverb in the 1990's for $400 American. Now i'm sure i could sell it for twice that-which is what a nice all-tube Princeton Reverb is going for as well. I think these two Fender models are the perfect tube amps-simple and great sounding with foot switchable reverb and tremolo. Simple is better. It lets you concentrate on your playing. Prineton Reverb is a dandy lil' ol' amp.
Another guitar player at our church uses one. It's perfect.
