What does your playlist look like?

Cool, I used to have that problem to. And to some listening I still have that problem Smile

I used to get my guitar anywere, even in bed and pick and sing en strum and sing. At first it was way out of rythem, tuning. Later it got better and better. I listen a lot to Don Fransisco who has a lovely country,- folkstyle fingerpick. I try to get up to his level but realise I am more an pick player than a fingerstyle pleyer. I have no problem with that but i still try to get better...

Wuhahahaha. That is a nice way of interpeting the gospel. We cant gossip on how bad you really are, we cant boo you, we cant beat you for singing bad. O well, I am a sinner Wink

I could be hounest with you and tell you you should be in another ministry. Have done that btw. A lady singer would sing so bad it broke the glasses filled with water. She is now a blessing in the sundayschool. She is the only one to draw attention when speaking Smile

I'm learning the song "I will be here" by Steven Curtis Chapman....wanna use it as a surprise to propose to my gf.....can anyone help me with some tabs? I have a few versions on hand from OLGA, and others tab sites, but I'm getting butterfly fingers with it....dun seem to be able to play correctly all the time....wonder if they are correct.... Sad

the best way to learn fingerstyle is to learn to do the alternating bass first with the thumb. I started out with learning country blues with the beginning video by Steffan Grossman. I played just the alternating bass while changing chords for all the basic chords. I did this over and over while watching tv so I could do it without thing about it. I did this every night for a month. My wife was ready to kill me after the first day. After a few days of this start doing the melody along with the bass very slowly and gradualy speeding up. If you are using tab, learn the songs one bar at a time. It takes patience and determination. I graqdually worked my way into playing with the thumb and three fingers. Do NOT forget that the alternating bass is not used in all types of music. Some music uses a straight bass patern which I think is harder to do after you get used to the alternating bass paterns.

I think ACFixer had a good way to put it, like "walking and chewing gum." I think singing helps me get my rhythm down. Sometimes I'll start out playing and by the end of the song I'm singing and I didn't intend on it!

bought the robert johnson tribute cd clapton recently released (yes i bought it) ,and i am going through them 1 at a time as they appeal to me.

claptons version struck me as a good arrangement for practiceing barre chords combined with strum picking. i like how you can play it up and down the neck without missing a beat.

try it, it's fun
