I really like the Steve Morse neck pickup by Dimarzio and one of the Tom Anderson neck models as well. They both have a smooth warm sound with the highs rolled off a little, great for clean chords and distorted leads. |

I like Fender Vintage Noiseless (the regular kind, not the "hot" version) in the neck position for Jazz sounds.
The Fender VN neck Tele pickup is great for Jazz sounds too.
Fortunately Leo Fender put his neck pickups right in a null. That's why they don't do "bell tones" for tuning too well, but they get a great Jazz sound.
I even have had pretty good luck with the Fender '57/'62 vintage style pickups (with heavier strings though). |

| If you're body is routed for a full size humbucker, I would suggest a Seymour Duncan Jazz pickup. The name says it all. |
