Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone could lend me a hand by any chance.
Alright, so I'm getting a new guitar and I'm 99% sure I'm going to get a Gibson Gothic SG. I've palyed many before and I love it, but I'm thinking of changing the pickups in them, but don't have the sweetest clue what to get.
I play alot of metal and rock (Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC, KISS, etc.). For an amp I have a Peavey Bandit 112 80 & 100 (depending on the OHMS or whatever) amp, with a Behringer V-amp2.
I want something that will suit the guitar, so a dark color is basically a necesity. I'm willing (obviously) to replace both pickups when the time comes, so what would you reccomend for a bridge and also a neck pickup?
Thanks alot in advance, take care.

| Chris, why do you want to change the pickups? It seems the pickups that come stock in the Gothics would suit your musical style pretty good, no? I think more af on a traditional line so I start thinking of a Seymour Duncan setup JB in the bridgle and a '59 in the neck. I am not sure which pups are in the Gothic. |

I have had good experience with Seymour Duncan Full Shred Bridge and Jeff Beck Bridge. The Tom Anderson models I tried are really nice too, I am using a neck model Tom Anderson in my Ernie Ball currently and it has a warm dark sound that I tend to like for solos and Jazz chording. In the Bridge I am using a custom color Steve Morse model that sounds similar to an older gibson pickup but louder with an upper midrange peak, it is a versatile pickup.
I have had good success with EMG's in the past as well, the 89 model bridge
in particular, very sweet and harmonically sensitive with medium output (if I remember correctly)
If you have any questions email me and I will try to answer your questions as I have a good amount of experience with pickups and installation.
