I'm thinking about a small PA system for small Church or Nursing Home use. One or two guitars and maybe three singers. Most of the time it's one acoustic guitar and one singer (one and the same). Does anyone have any advise? I'm looking at a Kustom KPA1012 or KPA804. Something along that price ($200-$250) and around 100 watts. They are both four channel systems. All the reviews I read about them are good. It needs to be very portable.
Thanks, |

Good question. Ik think it would be hard to get a decent set for that price. I havent used a kustom set (part from my guitar amp) in ages and could not give a decent advise on this one. I Would advise a set you have tested and come to love. Dont go and vuy something you have never even heared before.
BTW Did you go round your local rental company's? Sometimes they have some good stuff just lying there and waiting for a person to pick it up for a very soft price..... |

I did make several phone calls around town, seems the used stuff is pretty high end right now. I'm still on the lookout for just the right thing. One of the local shops is a custom dealer, they could order what I am talking about, then I could take a look at it first hand. One of the other shops that has been around for 40 years asked me to look at a Squire setup they had that was about the same thing, just a few more $$.
I agree, I would rather buy better used than lower end new.
Thanks, |

I took a look at that Peavey setup, I saw a Fender setup that looked just like that too. Their just more $ than I want to spend. They are very portable, but that is second to cost and sound. I would not want to buy without trying, at least the same model, it would not have to be the exact same equipment. We use Peavey at Church now, it has always been great stuff, and easy to find people that can fix it.
Keep talking, I'm listening. |
