Let me start on asking you about wireless mics. I have tried about 12 different ones promissing me failproof reception but I still get stuck with the $1000,-- plus price tags. Anyone know a good Mic for a church budget.

I really like my Shure UT series wireless headset mic. Got good sound; never any reception problems at all. Church paid about $400 for it.

| Ditto. Shure makes a nice setup for either voice or instrument for $300-400. |

| Wireless mic? Hum, our church has some that have never had any problems(so far). I will have to see what brand they are. They are definately not $1000 mic systems, but they are nice. I will check. |

Well, our church is kind of like a shoebox. (for now, we are moving soon i pray...)
The celing is about 3.5 meter high and the audiotorium is about 45 x 20 meters exl stage. The soundwall we built in makes a good Farraday cage (this bloks al electromagnetic radiation like radio....)
The cage seems to bee a problem as does the shape of the place. I could set the receiver at the FOH desk and have great reception but with delay. I could set the receiver on stage were it is supposed to be and the mike dropsout in the middle of a song. I have used Shure, Samson, Beyer etc etc. Most of them have the problem, except the more expensive ones....

I disagree. Ain't nothing wrong with Nady. I've had a Wireless One VHF guitar kit from Nady for the last several years, and would put it next to anything on the market. Has NEVER EVER given me any problems, anywhere.
My Nady In-Ear monitors work pretty decent, too. OK, maybe I would have rather had the Shure PSM, but the Nady is far better for the money ($300 vs. $900).
Yeah, I agree with the Samson, though. Our church has several and they are not my favorites.

You can't skimp on wireless systems. The cheap ones sound cheap (if they work at all). I've tried it both ways, and you really do get what you pay for. Stick with Shure or EV, and UHF systems if at all possible. AudioTechnica is about as cheap as I would go. Never Nady, Samson, or Radioshack for serious work.
