Nearing home plate, huh fellas?
Don't know what we'll say about the virtuous woman in Prov 31, but for today, let's look at 30.
I don't know who this writer is. Maybe Harry can shed some light. But there are some interesting things nonetheless.
quote: Give me neither poverty nor riches-
Feed me with the food allotted to me;
Lest I be full and deny You,
And say, "Who is the Lord?"
Or lest I be poor and steal,
And profane the name of my God. Vs. 8b-9
I think an important idea in this passage is that when thinks are going good for us, we always throw God to the side. It's a no wonder that I see so many Christians struggle at times. I'm not too sure that it isn't just God's way of getting his kids' attention as to who is in charge. I know myself, that this financial struggle I am still going thru, keeps my focus. And I won't lie and say that if all my money worries were over, I'd probably fade away again. Idiots we all are at times. We can rationalize it and say it's just human nature, but maybe human nature isn't a good thing...
I know personally that the more time I meditate on God, the more wonderful life becomes. It's bizarre to think that I am only scratching the surface.
Ponderous man, pon-der-ous.
See ya! |
