I was just wondering since some of us are living so far away from each other....what's the temperature at your place last dec ?

we use celcius in Indonesia. anyone knows the Farenheit-Celc math? -32 something in my short memory Laughing In Jakarta, it's around 30-35 celc last dec (Rainy season) , but i went out of town, to a cooler spot, it was around 20-25 Celc and extremely windy plus it rained heavily....so for us, indonesians, it's pretty cold, for you guys i imagined you might see it as a sunbathing opportunity hahahaha....... Cool

what's the weather at your place?
summer in Australia? Embarassed

In Suriname it was 32 C. Wet and rainy on some days.
In Holland, my home place it was evrything between -5 and +5 C. Some snow now and then.... But I missed all the fun as I was out in the jungle :-:

Today in Southern Indiana we awoke to snow flurries and 32 F thats about -2 C. Light snow expected all week, with lows in the single digits by weekend...

Here is a handy sight for temp converting:

Today in North East Victoria. We can expect a fine and sunny 33 degrees C. Much the same as it has been every other day recently. December really wasn't too bad where I live. But down in Melbourne they've had a few days over 40 degrees C, with the temperature at night still being over 30 degrees C. We are just starting to come into the hot part of the year now really.

In Pittsburgh, it's been hovering within a few degrees of freezing, up or down. In Celsius, it would be -4 to +4, on our Farenheit thermometers it's more like 21 to 40. We had a dusting of snow this morning, with a wee bit more expected tomorrow.

Yet one week ago, we set a record for the warmest day since we've been tracking temperatures. It was a balmy 70 F (around 21 in the metric world). It was the kind of day that made global warming seem like a good thing.

I can deal with most Metric measurements, but temperature takes some getting used to. I'm a foodie, and into gourmet cooking. I can handle using liters and grams when measuring ingredients, though I seldom measure anything anyway. But I can't imagine setting an oven to only 175 degrees to bake a cake, or considering roast beef done at only 60 degrees.

what extreme temps Shocked I have never been abroad, not even singapore , our closest neightbour...so the lowest temp i've ever been exposed to is prob only 18C something....

My three older cousins are living in the states though, Portland if I'm remembering right, and got an uncle (my mom's cousin) in leesburg, virginia....From the pics my uncle&his wife sent,it looked very cold, put on all kinds of jackets, gloves and what do you call that to cover your ears like a headphone ? Confused

They say winter is awfully hard for senior citizens, esp those who are living alone....can't really get the pic but yeah below zero temp must be hard for them....

Seams like the really hot days of summer kill more older people around here than the cold. Many of the older folks on fixed income will go without AC, but they all have some kind of heat.

We had a small tornado about 3 miles west of my house sunday night.....was really sudden. The weatherman caught it when I did, saw the dreaded "hook echo":

Would have been nice to get advanced warning. It was about 3 miles south, too close to venture driving to a safe shelter.

Mark-Thanks, it didn't do anything to us, I don't think it was a very strong one. It blew some of my friend's stuff around in his yard. Bet your farmers are happy about that rain though!

Music-Probably...they're world wide, but the 3 converging weather patterns over the central USA definitely produce more.
