I guess there are a milion options there.... Metal-rockers use anything from Ibanez to PRS and from Fender thru Charvel to Gibson! Any specifik sound you are looking for? Guitarists you like?
Metal usually depends on humbuckers for the extra output even tho Malmsteen uses singlecoil strats! |

It also depends on what you want to do with it. Rhythm or lead? Also, what type of metal do you want to play?
Looks is a hard one to judge as well because it relies too much on personal taste. But you probably shouldn't be basing your opinion on looks in any way. Unless you find something obscene (eg. some BC Rich designs), then it's looks probably don't matter too much. |

| I would surely depend on Ibanez guitars or may be Charvel guitars for metal use. They are good and sounds good even if you use a cheaper one of them. But Ibanez guitars are highly recommended by me at the lower price range. |

Yeh i agree. I have an old Ibanez RG320 and i used that in metal bands and it was great. A nice amp helps too (which i did NOT hAVE) lol.
Jacksons are a goer too.
Yeh does depend what sort of metal though. Bands like Opeth for example use PRS (as far as i know) and thats great for their melodic metal etc. Prog Metal bands use a wide range too from Ibanez, to Jackson, to Parker.
But...in the end...you just gotta play what you feel comfortable with and enjoy....it really is a personal choice. But fun to explore and talk about nonetheless
Goodluck! |
