Im having a battle in my head over whcih amp to buy. One is more powerful (120w) but is $400, and the other is less powerful (75w) but is only $300. They are both from Line 6 and are nice. I think I posted asking which one to buy earlier, and I never really made a decision. But now it has come down to these 2 amps. I like both of them equally, but the one I get needs to be a good gigging amp, and is loud enough to power over the drums. I don't know much about the watts, so Im here asking which one I should get. Im leaning towards the top one, it is $300 and 75 watts. I think this should be loud enough for what I want, and it is also small. But do you think I should wait and get the more expensive one?

I don't know much about amps, thats for sure. But if you think 75 watts will fill the bill, it is 11 lb's less weight to lug around...
Might check Harmony Central and see what users have to say about them;

Well I got the smaller one, although it sounds just as powerful as the larger one, and weighs less. Im glad with my purchase, and it has great tone. I got it so I could also get a Monster Cable, which was only $40. The amp has tons of different things to play with like reverb, delay, chorus phlange (or whatever) Rock, blues, metal, clean, and they all sound good.
Im running it through my Jackson DXMGT - with the turbocharger. With the turbocharger, this amp seems like it was built mainly for rock, and it was, but when you switch the pickup to the neck position and turn the amp to blues, it sounds really good. I can get good sounds out of it, even when it isnt very loud. Of course, it sounds the best with reverb and the volume all the way up, so you can pretend your in a huge stadium playing.
Overall, this amp was amazing for the price, and the one that is $400 is just a little bit louder, but the features are all the same. I have a very good feeling that I will have this amp for a long time. |
