| I need to know if a kent is worth 100 dollars. There is one at a pawn shop that has been used but it is in really good condidtion except on know i dont know which one does not turn enough. It feels as though the electric chord under it is tangled up and it wont turn all the way. The other lotus guitar is only 40 dollars and it in pretty good condition it looks a little worn on all the metal parts but for 40 dollars it might be worth it just for the pickups and pickguard. |

| A $40 Lotus that works, or a $100 Kent that may not - you had a question? They're both throw away guitars, buy the one that works and save money and headaches. |

I have seen lotus flat tops. They make a great canoe paddle. But use the back, water runs in the hole pretty quick and makes it to heavy to get a full stroke. Use duck tape over the hole, and it works much better. You can leave the stings on or take the off, doesn't seem to matter.
But I don't know anything about the lotus electrics. If it plays and you like it, $40 is a cheap enough price. I would still offer them $25.
Good luck. |

Honestly....buying a Lotus or other guitar is the worst decision a novice strummer can make. The guitar isn't good enough to get them interested. My advice is to save up $200 and go get something with double humbuckers, such as an Ibanez ( ).
All the "starter" guitars are a wasted investment, as soon as you figure out what you're doing, you realize that your guitar stinks and you lose interest. The single coils the starters have are such, such poor quality, it doesn't matter if you're running it through a Marshall amp, it still sounds like a washboard bass. |
