| So as a Christian you owe it to God and yourself to raise children based on the wealth/prosperity God has given you? |

No, based upon His answer to your prayers. I wouldn't say wealth and prosperity has much to do with it Jeff, just that one needs to be able to provide. |

I'm not very good at walking this talk but I think it's the Lord who provides. |

Sorry brian, I was just asking a general question. This has been a very interesting discussion, I don't think there is a concrete answer for this one. Probaly one of those "pray and find out" deals.
Makes my head hurt to think about this much. |

Well, according to the Catholic Church, not all birth control is bad. Catholics are obligated to follow the Catechism of the Catholic Church, which covers birth control in paragraph 2370. In the context of their worldview (embodied in the Catechism) it does make sense.
I suppose you could sum their view up by saying "if it's not natural, it's bad."
Personally, I think it belongs in the Romans 14 category.

But we do know how different types of contraception work. I believe we should avoid any form of contraception that actually kills the baby's life. Because it's essentially the same as murder. However, contraception that prevents the life from forming in the first place, it occurs to me that there is nothing wrong with that. Because that would not constitute taking a life. Abstinence works on this principle. Best form on contraception this is. | Amen! |
